Modular Configurator Shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts

Keyboard shortcuts can be used in the Modular Configurator to speed up common actions such as saving, exporting, zooming, cloning, moving, and deleting items.

Shortcuts are only available when the Modular Configurator is rendered in the modal embed experience where shortcuts are enabled. Shortcuts are not active on mobile devices nor in inline setup.

Some shortcuts require the configurator canvas to be focused. To focus the canvas, click inside the configurator area first.

Shortcuts also only work when the related action is available. For example, if no item is selected, the delete, clone, move, or flip shortcuts may not perform an action.

On Apple Mac devices, use cmd instead of ctrl.

Export scene/model	`e` or `ctrl` + `e`
Export to PDF	`p` or `ctrl` + `p`
Undo	`ctrl` + `z`
Redo	`ctrl` + `y`
Delete selected item	`Delete` or `Backspace`
Clone selected item	`d`
Move selected item	`m` or `ctrl` + `x`
Flip selected item	`ctrl` + `l`
Open / load an existing scene	`ctrl` + `o`
Open the finish screen	`f`
Save scene	`ctrl` + `s`
Save scene as	`ctrl` + `shift` + `s`
Toggle the floor grid on/off	`g`
Cancel the current operation	`Esc`
Rotate scene left	← (Arrow left)
Rotate scene right	→ (Arrow right)
Rotate scene up	↑ (Arrow up)
Rotate scene down	↓ (Arrow down)

The arrow-key shortcuts rotate the scene camera.

These shortcuts only work when the configurator canvas is focused. Click inside the configurator area, then use the arrow keys to rotate the scene.

Save shortcuts

The save shortcuts are only available when the user is logged in.

If the scene has already been saved, ctrl + s saves the current scene. If the scene has not been saved yet, ctrl + s opens the “Save as” flow.

Use ctrl + shift + s to open the “Save as” flow directly.

Export shortcuts

The export shortcuts open the relevant export dialogs:

Notes

Some shortcuts may be unavailable depending on the current state of the configurator. For example, item-specific shortcuts require an item to be selected.

Scene navigation shortcuts require the configurator canvas to be focused. Click inside the configurator area before using the arrow keys.

Keyboard shortcuts are intended for desktop use only and are not active on mobile devices.
