Introduction
Tabs are optional features in the Mimeeq application that allow you to present additional data about your products. They appear below the product display and enable users to access various types of supplementary information. This article explains how to create and manage different types of tabs in Mimeeq.

Types of Tabs
Mimeeq offers several types of tabs, each serving a specific purpose.
PDF Export: Each tab can be individually configured to determine whether it will be included when generating PDF exports of the product, giving you full control over which supplementary information appears in downloadable documentation. This flexibility allows you to maintain different content versions between the online product display and PDF outputs.

Creating and Managing Tabs
Adding a New Tab
To add a tab to your product (There is no limit to the number of tabs you can add)
Click the "Add Tab" button
Select the type of tab you want to create
Customize the tab settings based on its type, including options to rename any tab to match your preferred naming convention.

Text Tab
The Text tab allows you to add formatted text descriptions for your product.
To create a Text tab:
Add a new tab and select "Text" as the type
Use the text editor to add and format your content
- Add descriptions, dimensions, or other text information
- Format text (centralize, add hyperlinks, etc.)
- Add images if needed
Choose whether to enable this tab for PDF exports
Save changes
Popular Configurations Tab
The Popular Configurations tab allows you to showcase pre-generated product configurations that you recommend to your customers. This feature is ideal for highlighting bestsellers, seasonal selections, or designer-curated combinations.
To create a Popular Configuration Tab you will beed to create configurations first, and then set up the tab settings.
Step 1: Create Your Configuration
Open the configurator using the preview button in the top right corner of the screen
Build the desired product configuration by selecting options
Once satisfied with your configuration, click the "More Actions" menu
Select "Copy Config Code" to save the configuration data
Save image of the configuration to use it as Thumbnail later
Step 2: Set Up the Tab
Navigate to the Tabs section in your configurator settings
Click "Add New Tab"
Select "Popular Configuration" as the tab type
Name your tab appropriately (e.g., "Our Choices", "Staff Picks", "Popular Designs")
Paste the configuration code you copied in Step 1
Upload a thumbnail image of your configuration for visual reference
Configure the additional settings:
Enable for PDF: determines whether this tab's configurations can be included in PDF exportsItem
Item Name: controls what text appears under each configuration image - Shortcode (automatically generated product code), Custom Name (Allows you to define a custom title for the configuration) or None (no text will appear under the image)
Show Price: Controls price visibility under each configuration
Click "Save" to create the tab
You can add multiple configurations to this tab to showcase different options.
Finishes Tab
The Finishes tab displays information about the materials and finishes used in your product.
To set up a Finishes tab:
Add a new tab and select "Finishes" as the type
Choose which finishes to display (e.g., all fabrics)
Drag the selected finishes to the tab
Tip: To copy the option sets that are assigned to this product click the "copy product option sets"
Rename the tab if desired
Choose whether to enable this tab for PDF exports
The Finishes tab automatically displays:
- Images of the finishes
- Names of the finishes
- Descriptions from the option set
Galleries Tab
The Gallery tab displays images and/or videos.
To create a Gallery tab:
First, create a gallery in the Gallery section
- Navigate to the Gallery section
- Create a new gallery and name it
- Set how many columns you want for the gallery, this will mean sure that number in the tab, so if you want to display large thumbnails use for example 3 wide, for smaller ones, more columns.
- Upload images or add videos (from media library or URL (yourtube or vimeo are supported)
- Add captions to images if desired, these will appear below the image in the tab
- Configure video options (autoplay, loop)
Return to your product
Add a new tab and select "Gallery" as the type
Select the gallery you created from the dropdown
Save changes
Downloads Tab
The Downloads tab allows you to share files such as PDFs, CAD models, assembly instructions, Zip files.
Two Modes for Adding Files:
Static Mode
- Upload specific files directly
- Files can be renamed or retain their original filename
- Simple way to share general product documentation
Dynamic Mode
- Displays downloads dynamically based on selections in the option panel
- You specify a pattern based on the option blocks in the configurator
- Select the directory from which files are taken dynamically
- Useful for exposing CAD models for specific configurations
- Can be set to be available only for authenticated users

Viewing and Testing Tabs
To see how your tabs appear, click the "Preview" button. This will show your product with all the tabs you've created displayed below it. You can switch between tabs to verify that each displays correctly.

- Use tabs strategically to avoid overwhelming users with information
- Consider which information is most important to your customers
- Maintain consistent naming conventions across products
- Regularly update your tabs with current information
- Use high-quality images and well-formatted text for a professional appearance
