Rule Action - Unselect Options

Overview

The Unselect Option rule in Mimeeq allows you to automatically deselect specific options based on triggers you define. This is useful for resetting selections and managing mutually exclusive options.

Step-by-Step Guide

1. Navigate to Rules

Access the Rules section in your configuration:

  • Open your configuration in Mimeeq
  • Navigate to the Rules section
  • Choose to either create a new rule or edit an existing one

2. Name Your Rule

Give your rule a descriptive name that clearly indicates its purpose:

Example names:

  • "Unselect Material"
  • "Reset Color Options"
  • "Clear Accessory Selection"

3. Configure Basic Settings

  • Select a Trigger: Choose what will activate your unselect rule. For example, these rules can be triggered when specific options are selected or by events.
  • Select "Unselect Option" as your action type
  • Configure Timing: Determine when the rule should run: Always, On Load, or After Load
  • Choose which devices this rule applies to (All Devices or specific device)

4. Specify Options to Unselect

Select the specific options that should be unselected when the rule triggers:

  • Browse through your available options
  • Select one or multiple options to unselect

5. Configure Option Settings

Important: For complete unselection to work properly, ensure the target options have the correct settings:

  • Navigate to the options you want to unselect
  • Enable "Allow initial load without selection" toggle
  • Save your option settings

Note: If "Allow initial load without selection" is disabled, the option will reset to its default state instead of being completely unselected.

Use Cases

Create a "Reset" button at the end of an option group:

  1. Add a button option labeled "Reset" and add it to the group
  2. Create an unselect rule triggered by this button
  3. Configure the rule to unselect all options in the group
  4. Users can click "Reset" to start fresh with their selections

In this demo, open the first group called Design Cover. As you can see, we have already added a cover, and when the cover is added, a button to Reset is shown. Once you click reset, we reset the cover and the button is hidden since there is nothing left to unselect.
