What is Trash?

Trash gives you a safety net when deleting items. Instead of removing something permanently right away, Mimeeq moves it to Trash, where it can be restored or permanently deleted by an authorised user.

Items remain in Trash for 31 days, after which they are automatically and permanently deleted. During that window, you can restore them at any time. (Need a longer retention period? Contact Mimeeq support to discuss your options.)

Supported Modules

Mimeeq supports two safety features across its modules — Trash and Revisions. Trash lets you recover deleted items within the retention window. Revisions let you roll back changes to an item's configuration at any time.

The table below shows which features are available per module, along with Trash limits where applicable.

Moving items to Trash

  1. Navigate to the module containing the item you want to delete (e.g. Products, 3D Materials).
  2. Select the item or items you want to remove.
  3. Click the Delete action (from the row menu or bulk action bar).
  4. Confirm the action.

The item is moved to Trash — it is no longer visible in the main list, but has not been permanently deleted.

Example: You accidentally send a product to Trash instead of duplicating it. You have 31 days to restore it before it disappears permanently.

Viewing Trash

  1. Open the relevant module (e.g. Option Sets).
  2. Click the three-dot menu in the top-right corner of the data grid.
  3. Select View Trash.

A modal opens showing all trashed items for that module, including details such as the deletion date, remaining time, and who deleted each item.

The Trash modal shows all deleted items with their remaining time and deletion date

Restoring items

  1. Switch to Trash view (see Viewing Trash).
  2. Select the item or items you want to restore.
  3. Click Restore.

The item is returned to the main list with all its original data intact. Restoration runs in the background — you can close the modal and continue working. Larger items may take a few minutes to fully restore.

⚠️ Important: If an item was moved to Trash within the last few minutes, it may not yet be available for restoration. Wait a few minutes and try again.

Click the restore icon on any item to bring it back to your list

Permanently deleting items

  1. Switch to Trash view.
  2. Select the item or items you want to permanently remove.
  3. Click Delete permanently.
  4. Confirm the action.

⚠️ Important: This action cannot be undone. Once permanently deleted, the item cannot be recovered. Only users with the Delete from Trash permission can perform this action.

Permissions

Moving items to Trash and restoring them uses your existing module permissions — no additional setup needed. If a user can create or edit items in a module, they can also move them to Trash and restore them.

The only dedicated trash permission is Trash Permanent Deletion, which allows a user to permanently delete items from Trash. You can assign it to any user in your account, but we recommend granting it carefully — permanent deletion cannot be undone.
