Restricted Access

Show selected configurators only to the customer groups you choose. Learn how to set up company groups, add companies and restrict product access.

This guide explains how to restrict specific configurators to certain customer groups in Mimeeq.

This is only available to customers who use the Mimeeq auth library. See Authentication to set up customer login.

Setting up restricted access

1

Create a company group

  1. Navigate to Settings.

  2. Select Data from the left menu.

  3. Click Company Groups.

  4. Click Create to make a new company group.

  5. Enter a friendly name (e.g. "Customers Group 1").

  6. The new group opens automatically for further configuration.

2

Configure the company group settings

  1. Set the group Status to Active (required for the group to function).

  2. Review the Can Export 3D permission if you want to control 3D file exporting for this group.

The 3D export permission works in conjunction with your customer settings. To configure this, go to Settings → Account, scroll to Show Export 3D Button and select your preferred option:

  • Private: only your company (Tier 1) users can export.

  • Public: everyone can export.

  • Restricted: only specified company groups can export.

3

Add companies to the group

  1. Click the Companies Connected tab.

  2. Click Add to select companies to include in this group.

  3. Select the desired companies for this group.

  4. Click Save.

A dealer/company can belong to multiple groups. Access permissions are combined: if a company belongs to two groups, it has access to products restricted to either group.

4

Restrict product access

  1. Go to the Products datagrid in the admin panel.

  2. Select the product you want to restrict.

  3. On the General tab, scroll to the Status and Availability section.

  4. Find the Privacy Condition dropdown and select an option (see the table below).

  5. If you select Restricted To, you'll see the available company groups on the left. Drag the desired company groups to the right side (restricted list).

  6. Click Save.

How access validation works

When a user attempts to access a restricted configurator, the system runs these checks:

  1. The system checks if the user is logged in.

  2. It verifies if the user's company is connected to a company group.

  3. It confirms if that company group has permission to access the specific product.
