# CSV Templates

Import item data and market cost prices in bulk from a CSV file. Learn where to download the templates, which fields to fill in and how each import option works.

Use these templates to import data into Item Master and Market Cost Prices. Follow the instructions below for a smooth import.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

#### Download the template

Choose the Item Master or Market Cost Prices CSV template from the download links below.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Fill in the fields

Enter your data using the field tables below. Keep the template structure unchanged and include all necessary data, because the import overwrites all columns.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Choose the import options

Decide whether to update existing records. Only select **Clear Existing Items before import** if you intend to delete all current records before importing.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Import the CSV file

Click **Import** to process your prepared file with the selected options.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

#### Review the summary

Check the imported, updated and skipped counts. Use **export codes** to download skipped records for review.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Prefer to automate updates?** As an alternative to CSV imports, use the Mimeeq public Admin API to create or update records in bulk: [Bulk upsert Item Masters](https://help.mimeeq.com/developers/item-masters/bulk-upsert-item-masters) or [Bulk upsert Market Cost Prices](https://help.mimeeq.com/developers/market-cost-prices/bulk-upsert-market-cost-prices). Each endpoint documents the required API key scope, request fields and update behaviour.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.mimeeq.com/pricing-and-codes/pricing-setup/csv-templates.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
