Create Contact
Create a contact for a company.
Use this to add a person to an existing company; this does not create a Tier 1 login.
Behaviour
status defaults to ACTIVE when omitted; the nested address shape is shared with contact updates.
reportsToId must name another contact in the same company (400 contact_invalid_reports_to otherwise).
A companyId that names no company you can reach answers 404 company_not_found — the only reason a create returns 404.
Requires the contacts:write scope.
API key sent as a bearer token (mk_live_… / mk_test_…).
Data schema used by Create Contact (POST /v1/contacts). Read that operation for usage, permissions and update rules. Required fields and allowed values are defined below; request and response shapes can differ.
^COMP-[0-9a-fA-F]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12}$Up to 50 tags.
^CONT-[0-9a-fA-F]{8}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{4}-[0-9a-fA-F]{12}$Created.
Invalid request data.
Missing or invalid API key.
The API key lacks the required scope (scope_denied), or the operation is not permitted for this account (operation_not_permitted).
Resource not found.
The API key exceeded its request rate (rate_limit_exceeded) or its monthly quota (quota_exceeded). Both carry Retry-After; the RateLimit-* headers accompany rate_limit_exceeded only, since a spent quota says nothing about the bucket.
Internal server error.
