# Product connections

See what depends on a product before you change or remove it. Learn how to check partner sharing, connected configurators and price lists in scope.

The **Connections** tab shows which partner products, configurators and price lists are linked to a product. Check it before you change or remove a product that other configurators or partners depend on.

To open it, go to **Products**, open a product and select the **Connections** tab. The sections you see depend on your account features and the product mode.

Connections is a view only. You can check sharing status and open linked records, but you add or change these relationships elsewhere.

***

## Sharing

Available when sharing is enabled for your account. This section lists the partner products linked to the product you are viewing.

<table data-header-hidden="false" data-header-sticky><thead><tr><th>Column</th><th>What it shows</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Company</strong></td><td>The partner company that has the linked product.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Product Name</strong></td><td>The product's internal name in the partner's account.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Code</strong></td><td>The product code in the partner's account.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Connection status</strong></td><td>The result of the last connection check.</td></tr></tbody></table>

You can search by company name, product name or code.

### Connection statuses

* **Not checked:** The connection has not been checked yet.
* **Connected:** The last check found the connection working.
* **Broken:** The last check found a problem with the connection. Hover over the warning icon for details.

Connection status is separate from the product's **Active** or **Inactive** status. A Connected product is not necessarily available to customers.

### Check connection status

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open Sharing

Expand the **Sharing** section on the **Connections** tab.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Choose which products to check

To check every listed product, clear the search. To check only some, search for a company, product name or code first.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Run the check

Click **Check connection status**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Review the result

Check each product's **Connection status** and **Last Checked** time. For a Broken connection, review the source product and the sharing setup with your partner.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**Last Checked is a snapshot.** Statuses are not updated automatically. Run the check again whenever you need a current result.
{% endhint %}

To change who you share products with, see [Sharing as Owner](/configurator/sharing-products/sharing-as-owner.md).

## Modular products connected

Available for **Standard**, **Component** and **Hybrid Modular** products when modular features are enabled for your account. It is not shown on **Modular** products.

This section lists the **Modular** and **Hybrid Modular** configurators that use this product. For example, open a chair product to see which table-and-chairs configurators include it, so you know which ones to review after changing the chair.

<table data-header-hidden="false" data-header-sticky><thead><tr><th>Column</th><th>What it shows</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Name</strong></td><td>The configurator's name. Click it to open the product.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Preview</strong></td><td>The configurator's preview image.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Status</strong></td><td>Whether it is Active or Inactive.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Visibility</strong></td><td>Whether it appears in the product list.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Privacy type</strong></td><td>Whether it is Public, Restricted or Private.</td></tr></tbody></table>

See [Product Types](/configurator/getting-started/product-types-and-limits.md) for how the product modes work together.

## Price Lists in Scope

This section lists the calculated price lists whose scope includes this product. A price list's scope sets which products it covers, for example all products, your own products, shared products or selected products. See [Pricing Overview](/pricing-and-codes/pricing-setup/pricing-overview.md) for how calculated price lists work.

<table data-header-hidden="false" data-header-sticky><thead><tr><th>Column</th><th>What it shows</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>Price List Name</strong></td><td>The price list's name. Click it to open the price list.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Status</strong></td><td>Whether it is Active or Inactive.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Market</strong></td><td>The market assigned to the price list.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Currency</strong></td><td>The price list's currency.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Price Type</strong></td><td><strong>Standard</strong> or <strong>Promotional</strong>.</td></tr><tr><td><strong>Valid Period</strong></td><td>The dates the price list is valid between.</td></tr></tbody></table>

{% hint style="info" %}
**In scope does not mean in use today.** A price list can appear here while it is Inactive or outside its valid dates. Check **Status** and **Valid Period** to see which prices currently apply.
{% endhint %}

If a price list you expect is missing, check its scope in the price list editor.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.mimeeq.com/configurator/product-setup/product-connections.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
