# WebGL Support

Make sure the Mimeeq 3D configurator loads in your browser. Learn how to check and enable WebGL in Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Safari.

WebGL (Web Graphics Library) is a JavaScript API that allows browsers to render high-performance interactive 3D graphics. Most modern browsers support WebGL by default, but if you encounter issues with the configurator, use the steps below to check and enable it.

{% hint style="info" %}
WebGL is required for Mimeeq's 3D configurator.

## Check and enable WebGL

Choose your browser:

{% tabs %}
{% tab title="Google Chrome" %}

1. Type `chrome://gpu` in the address bar.
2. Under **Graphics Feature Status**, look for **WebGL**. If it shows **Hardware accelerated**, WebGL is enabled.
3. If WebGL is disabled, go to `chrome://flags`.
4. Find **Override software rendering list** and enable it.
5. Relaunch Chrome.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Mozilla Firefox" %}

1. Type `about:config` in the address bar and press **Enter**.
2. Click **Accept the Risk and Continue** if prompted.
3. Search for `webgl.disabled`.
4. If the value is set to `true`, double-click it to change it to `false`.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Microsoft Edge" %}

1. Click the three-dot menu (**...**) in the top-right corner and go to **Settings**.
2. Select **System and performance**.
3. Ensure **Use hardware acceleration when available** is turned on.
4. Restart Edge.
   {% endtab %}

{% tab title="Safari" %}

1. Go to **Safari** > **Preferences** > **Advanced**.
2. Tick **Show Develop menu in menu bar**.
3. From the menu bar, select **Develop** > **Enable WebGL**.
   {% endtab %}
   {% endtabs %}

## Additional troubleshooting

* **Update your browser:** outdated browsers may not fully support WebGL. Check for updates and install the latest version.
* **Check your graphics card:** on computers with dual graphics cards (integrated and dedicated), make sure your browser is using the dedicated GPU. You can configure this in your system's graphics settings.
* **Disable browser extensions:** some extensions — particularly ad blockers or graphics-related ones — can interfere with WebGL. Try disabling them one by one to identify the cause.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.mimeeq.com/configurator/getting-started/webgl-support.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
