## Account and setup

<details>

<summary>Do I need a Mimeeq account to use the app?</summary>

Yes, you'll need a Mimeeq licence to use our Shopify app. [Contact our team](https://mimeeq.com/contact/) and we'll help you get set up with the right plan for your business.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I translate my configurator content?</summary>

Yes. You have two options for translations:

<table><thead><tr><th width="61.2734375">#</th><th>Content type</th><th>Where to translate</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1</td><td><strong>Dynamic content</strong> (product names, descriptions, options)</td><td>Your Mimeeq Dashboard</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td><strong>User interface</strong> (buttons, messages, tooltips)</td><td>Our <a href="/commerce-and-integrations/shopify/theme-extension.md">App Theme Translations Block</a> in Shopify</td></tr></tbody></table>

## Products and collections

<details>

<summary>How do I hide custom products from my collections?</summary>

There are a few ways to do this, but the easiest is to edit the collection's dynamic properties. For example:

1. Go to the product collection.
2. Set the conditions like this: **Product title** → **does not contain** → **"Custom Design Ref:"**

The condition depends on the name you use for the products you create. The default setting includes "Custom Design Ref:", so filtering by this makes the most sense if you have not edited those settings in the Mimeeq app.

{% hint style="warning" %}
The Dawn theme redirects users with an empty cart to `collections/all` by default. To make sure Mimeeq custom products do not show there, add a filter like the one above to this collection. If you do not see this collection, create it with the name **All** — Shopify uses it even when it isn't listed.
{% endhint %}

## Pricing, tax and currencies

<details>

<summary>What happens if the price is updated? How do you ensure that the pricing is updated in Shopify?</summary>

Our app acts as a middle step in the purchase flow, so we load the prices as a product is configured.

Even if a price changes while a user is making a configuration, the next option change, quantity change or **Add to cart** click uses the current live price at that moment.

If Mimeeq detects that a previously created custom product with the same options exists and the price no longer matches, we archive it and create a new one. This ensures no invalid products can be added to the cart.

</details>

<details>

<summary>How does Mimeeq handle sales tax?</summary>

Mimeeq is sales tax agnostic. We pass the price you configured in our app to the newly created product or variant in Shopify.

If you sell with prices excluding or including tax, set your prices in Mimeeq the same way you want them entered into the Shopify product.

</details>

<details>

<summary>What currencies are supported?</summary>

We support all major global currencies. Configure your preferred currency in your [Mimeeq Dashboard settings](/pricing-and-codes/pricing-setup/pricing-overview.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Can I use Shopify Markets and multi-currency features?</summary>

Yes. Mimeeq fully supports Shopify Markets for international selling. See our [Multi-Currency Setup Guide](/commerce-and-integrations/shopify/multi-currency-and-markets.md) for detailed instructions.

## Cart and checkout

<details>

<summary>Why doesn't the image always appear immediately in the cart?</summary>

This is caused by a delay on the Shopify side while it processes image thumbnails for newly created media. You can work around this by editing your theme or using a custom script. See [Shopify Cart Data Validation Script for Custom Products](/developer-guides/cart-validation-script.md).

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do Shopify discount codes work with Mimeeq products?</summary>

Yes, discount codes work with Mimeeq products. You can even create special discounts for configured products only. Learn how in our [Discount Codes Guide](/commerce-and-integrations/shopify/discount-codes.md).

## Appearance and performance

<details>

<summary>Can I customise the configurator's appearance?</summary>

You have two options:

<table><thead><tr><th width="64.203125">#</th><th>Option</th><th>What it does</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td>1</td><td><strong>Theme Template Editor</strong></td><td>Customise colours, controls and CSS variables yourself.</td></tr><tr><td>2</td><td><strong>Custom UI Development</strong></td><td>We build a completely custom interface tailored to your brand.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Both options are delivered through our global CDN for fast load speed. [Contact us](https://mimeeq.com/contact/) to discuss custom UI development.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Do you support right-to-left (RTL) layouts?</summary>

RTL support isn't available in our standard UI. We can build custom interfaces with full RTL support using our SDK. [Get in touch](https://mimeeq.com/contact/) to learn more about this option.

</details>

<details>

<summary>Will the configurator slow down my website?</summary>

If you use the Mimeeq button with a template that does not render the configurator at page load, we only load a small script when the page loads. When the customer clicks the button, we pull our main code into the page, so the initial page load stays fast.

{% hint style="info" %}
All Mimeeq models, materials and code are minified, compressed and distributed through Amazon's CloudFront CDN.
{% endhint %}

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.mimeeq.com/commerce-and-integrations/shopify/faq.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
