# 2026

New features, improvements and fixes in the Mimeeq public API in 2026.

{% updates format="full" %}
{% update date="2026-10-14" tags="improvement,fixes" %}

## API documentation and request testing improved

Expanded resource and endpoint guidance, including permissions, update behaviour and rate limits.

No changes to API behaviour or existing integrations are required.

### Fixes

* Fixed an issue where **Test Request** in the API reference used the wrong server URL, so requests can now be tested directly from the reference.

## Account management, media and price list updates

The public Admin API expanded from **75 to 110 resource operations**, adding **35 operations** across seven resources, including account and media management and creating and updating price lists.

<table><thead><tr><th>Resource</th><th width="104.60546875" align="right">Operations</th><th>What was included</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><a href="/api/price-lists.md">Price Lists</a></td><td align="right">4</td><td>List and create price lists, update their general settings, and replace fixed-price rows.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/users.md">Users</a></td><td align="right">3</td><td>List and read users in your account; activate or deactivate a user.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/invitations.md">Invitations</a></td><td align="right">3</td><td>List, create and cancel invitations for users in your account.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/roles.md">Roles</a></td><td align="right">5</td><td>List, create, read and update roles in your account; read available permissions.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/customer.md">Customer</a></td><td align="right">4</td><td>Read account context; update contact details, languages and pricing settings.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/custom-fields.md">Custom Fields</a></td><td align="right">5</td><td>List, create, read, update and delete custom-field definitions.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/files.md">Files</a></td><td align="right">11</td><td>List, search and inspect media; create directories; rename, move, copy, upload, soft-delete and download files; download print-on-demand assets.</td></tr></tbody></table>

### Improvements

* API keys can now have request-rate and monthly limits, and requests over a limit return `429` with a `Retry-After` header. [Learn more about rate limits](/api/rate-limits.md).
* Request logs now include path and query parameters.

New operations require the relevant API key scopes. Existing keys must have the appropriate permissions before using them. Products remain read-only; this release does not add product creation or editing endpoints.

## Richer quotation data and formatted content

Quotation and quotation-version responses now include formatted text, gallery media, document references, version pricing, additional charges and product-line selection details. Unit prices and complete line totals are exposed separately, and public prices are rounded to two decimal places.

Product descriptions, company notes and quotation rich-text fields now return rendered HTML and plain text. Integrations consuming these fields should read the structured content response rather than rely on the earlier opaque value.

Use `version.pricing.total` for the selected quotation version’s total. The top-level `price` remains the current quotation metadata price.
{% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-09-21" tags="improvement" %}

## Clearer validation for companies and contacts

Company and contact requests now enforce the supported field lengths and array sizes. A request that exceeds a limit is rejected with a message naming the affected field and limit.

The API reference documents these limits. Integrations that send large arrays or long text values should validate them before submitting a request.
{% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-09-07" tags="new-features" %}

## Manage API keys and inspect requests in the Mimeeq app

The API Management area provides API key management, request logs and an API documentation view in the Mimeeq app. API settings have their own page instead of being part of the general Account Settings page.
{% endupdate %}

{% update date="2026-09-02" tags="new-features" %}

## Public Admin API launch

The first release of the current public Admin API introduced authenticated access to **75 resource operations across 13 resources**. Integrations could read catalogue and sales data, maintain company and pricing records, and manage reusable configurator content.

Requests use an API key sent as a bearer token, with scopes controlling which resources the key can read or change. The release also introduced the generated OpenAPI reference and per-key request logging.

<table><thead><tr><th>Resource</th><th width="87.34765625" align="right">Operations</th><th>What was included</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><a href="/api/products.md">Products</a></td><td align="right">3</td><td>List products, read product details and find related products. Product authoring is not included.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/companies.md">Companies</a></td><td align="right">6</td><td>List, create, read and update companies; read notes and attach price lists.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/contacts.md">Contacts</a></td><td align="right">4</td><td>List, create, read and update company contact records.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/carts.md">Carts</a></td><td align="right">2</td><td>List carts and read cart details, including configured items and price modifiers.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/quotations.md">Quotations</a></td><td align="right">9</td><td>Read quotations, settings, owners, versions and notes; change a quotation’s status or stage.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/price-lists.md">Price Lists</a></td><td align="right">1</td><td>Read one price list by its ID. Listing, creation and updates arrived on 13 October 2026.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/item-masters.md">Item Masters</a></td><td align="right">5</td><td>List, create, read and update item masters, including bulk upsert.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/market-cost-prices.md">Market Cost Prices</a></td><td align="right">4</td><td>List, create and update market cost prices, including bulk upsert.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/global-option-sets.md">Global Option Sets</a></td><td align="right">8</td><td>Manage reusable option sets and their options; duplicate a set.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/collection-sets.md">Collection Sets</a></td><td align="right">8</td><td>Manage collections of option sets, add or remove members, and duplicate a collection.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/galleries.md">Galleries</a></td><td align="right">7</td><td>Manage galleries and their image or video items.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/product-groups.md">Product Groups</a></td><td align="right">11</td><td>Manage groups, their products and linked companies; duplicate a group.</td></tr><tr><td><a href="/api/product-categories.md">Product Categories</a></td><td align="right">7</td><td>Manage the category hierarchy and the products assigned to each category.</td></tr></tbody></table>

Successful responses use a `data` envelope. Create and update operations return the resulting resource where supported.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://help.mimeeq.com/changelog/api/2026.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
